“Shaana Moona” – Ancestry of “Akkara” – Chinafort, Beruwala

“Akkara”, during the days of Shaana Moona was a tiny hamlet of its own, separated from the mainland of Chinafort by the stream, which exists to the present day. It was Shaana Moona, who built the first ever bridge across this stream linking Akkara to the mainland of Chinafort, and thereby provided easy access to all those living in Akkara. Then the vast area of the land in Akkara was owned by Shaana Moona. The land that belonged to Shaana Moona was subsequently inherited by his siblings ( grand children and great grand children , who live at present in Akkara.

He also owned an “X” series Austin car. He wore the Fez cap.

As an honour to Shaana Moona, the present access road to Akkara has been named after him as “Shaana Moona Mawatha”.
